Mortgage Rates remain at historic lows
- The 30 year fixed rate mortgages averaged 3.51
percent with an average 0.7 point for the week ending May 16, 2013, up from last
week when it averaged 3.42 percent.The 15 year fixed rate mortgage averaged 2.69
percent with an average 0.7 point, up from last week when it averaged 2.61
percent. The single family market continues to be the strength of the Florida real estate market. Sales are up almost 32% year to date, and median sales prices are up nearly $12,000. Cash buyers accounted for over 60% and financing is a a key factor as the real estate market continues its recovery. Mortgage rates remain at historic lows under 4%.
